NLB30

From June 2025, everyone can look out for different NLB30 events, including
pop-up libraries around town to discover more Singapore literature, a keynote
series featuring literary luminaries, and just for children (and some adults
too!) a special Book Bugs event, and more.
July 2025 brings READ30, a special edition of the biennial Read! Fest,
where visitors can connect with books through their five senses in a marquee
experience. As part of the event, discover thought-provoking reads at the
Presidential Pop-up Library, and find your next favourite book through
curated recommendations from prominent Singaporean personalities at our
reading nodes. In the same month, NLB will host Read for Books, our charity
book drive aimed at sharing the gift of reading with the less privileged.
For every 10 people who read for 15 minutes, one book or equivalent will
be donated to selected beneficiaries, up to the total number of books raised
from donors. We invite everyone to join us to read and do good! For more
information on Read for Books, visit: www.go.gov.sg/rfb25.
Another highlight to look forward to is the Heart&Soul showcase at Orchard Library, which will offer visitors an immersive and multi-sensorial experience that seeks to inspire them with a sense of optimism about their future and the future of Singapore. The annnual celebration of NLB’s birthday, Love Our Libraries and Archives
(LOLA), will take place in September 2025. As part of the programme, patrons
can contribute digital love letters to the libraries, archives, and Singapore,
which would be displayed across our library network. NLB will also mark
the occasion with cake-cutting parties at libraries and archives across
Singapore, with the main celebration taking place at the National Library
Building.
